God looks to the heart

Searching the scriptures

Whatever you do, do it with a good heart, as for the Lord and not for men. Colossians 3.23

It's time for the offering, the baskets pass from hand to hand : "More money to give... and everyone is looking at me... Well, I'm going to put 20 euros, after all this n It's not so bad..." The offering finished, the sermon begins and then the worship ends. "It's great what the pastor preached."

I go home quietly, walk a little way and suddenly, to my surprise, I see a 20 euro note on the ground. I could have rejoiced, but I clearly heard a voice resounding in my heart : "Here, take back your money."

I realize that during the offering, my attitude was not good. She did not give glory to God. I immediately pour out my broken heart before the Lord : "Lord, forgive me, how could I despise your offering... ?"

I then understood what the value of the offering is ; I never gave the same way again, because now I know that God looks at the heart.

Consider that it is not the amount you give that counts, but the disposition of your heart toward the Lord.

You can quickly change your attitude and go back, if you consider your money as "your security". Instead, put your trust in the Lord Jesus, who is faithful to shower you with his blessings.

“Guard your heart more than anything else, for from it come the springs of life,” says Proverb 4.23.

Listen the voice of God

Do you need to change your attitude about what you are doing for God ? Let God search your heart and listen to what he wants to tell you about it.

Praying is simply talking to God. Your Heavenly Father loves you and He can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer to help you : "Lord, I see my condition, change me for your glory ; help me to keep my heart pure and attached to you. I no longer want to live according to the desires and fears of my flesh, but give freely, trusting in you in all things. Amen."

Praise God

God is truly the source of all your resources ! Give glory to God for his infinite goodness. Acclaim Him with songs or words of praise !

Act today

Decide today to renew your disposition of heart each time you give to the Lord. Do it with a pure heart, by being intentional, for the glory of the Lord! God will bless you abundantly.

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Thank you my God for you supply all my needs according to your riches, in glory in Jesus. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, amen !"
