God's requirement !

Micah 6.8 - You have been taught the righteous conduct that the Lord requires of men : He only asks you to respect the rights of others, to love to act kindly and to humbly follow the path that He, your God, indicates to you (BFC ).

If we are a somewhat committed Christian, we will seek out what is “good” for God. Now the prophet Micah tells us clearly : what God expects of us is to be righteous, good, and humble. We have already underlined it in our lines, to be a mouth for the silent and to exercise mercy towards the needy is of great importance for God. Isaiah also tells us : "Strive to do good, to act righteously, assist the oppressed, and defend the right of the fatherless, plead the cause of the widow !" (Isaiah 1:17). Jacques goes so far as to say that this is pure and spotless “religion” (James 1:27), a life marked not by ostentatious signs of spirituality but by simple and concrete acts of mercy.

My reflection is : what if what displeases God the most were not what we believe ? One thing is certain, if we read Matthew 25.31 to 46, indifference and lack of interest towards the "little ones", meaning in this term the "left behind", will be sources of eternal damnation. Don't you think this gives us food for thought ?

I think we should “reform” our way of thinking, no longer seeing the straw but the beam ! The beam of individualism blinds us to the needs around us. We shrug our shoulders in front of the hungry, the bullied, thinking : "It's a pity for you". Our bowels should quiver with compassion and a desire to help ! If the children of God don't stand up to cry foul, who will ? Are we not ashamed when the Lord has to raise up a man who does not know Him to fight against discrimination ?

Do not think that God does not “suffer” for the unfortunate, even those who do not know him. God is far from being indifferent to human misery and He is looking for a man, men full of his heart to bring justice to planet earth ! Our Lord Jesus is the perfect example. From Genesis to Revelation, you will find this “concern” for God. To be concrete, today, if we have the opportunity, exercise justice and law, give of our love and our goods to relieve a little the misery of this world.
