"O LORD, listen to my voice, I call upon thee: Give me grace and answer me !" Psalm 27.7
I remember the jokes that we made as children ... We randomly dialed a phone number and once the person dropped out, we were silent and then hang up right after! Well, do not take note, it was not necessarily a good joke : it made people crazy !
How frustrating it can be, when we want to hear someone speak to us or answer us ... and there is no one at the other end of the line !
God, listen to your voice, and answer you. He says to you, "I know you. I know when you get up and when you go to bed. And the word is not on your mouth that I already know it fully (see Psalm 139.3-4).
Yet, I love hearing your voice, I like you to talk to me. As a good parent likes to hear the voice of her child. What would you have me do for you in this day ?"
He also wants to answer you and I think he does, because he loves you personally and passionately.
As a good father, the desire of God is to teach you. He wants to show you the way to go. Pray to him in that day ... "LORD, teach me your way, lead me in the path of uprightness." (Psalms 27:11)
God always listens to your voice, and answers you.
God is wise and above all he knows the future. One day, when I planned to redirect my life professionally and geographically, God said to me : "Eric is not my way." Fortunately, I listened because the company that hired me went bankrupt It is because God is God, that it is important to ask Him to teach you His way.
His way is that of righteousness, that on which you are safe, for he walks with you. On his way you are surrounded (front), behind and God puts his hand on you. (See Psalms 139.5)
When you do not know where to go, or what to do, God is the one to whom you must turn. He is willing and able to hear you, answer your call, and show you the way.
A prayer for today
Lord, I need your help today. I do not know what to do, but my eyes are on you. Teach me your way. Lead me, I pray thee, in the way which thou hast made for me. I thank you Jesus, Amen.
