God takes care of you
Our God is filled with compassion. Psalm 116.5
Cast all your worries on him, for he takes care of you. 1 Peter 5.7
In March 2017, I went through a terrible ordeal. In a few days, I had four operations, twenty hours of operation, and I was close to death.
As the surgeons came with me for the third time to the emergency room and I was in critical condition, I felt death lurk. I was in great pain and I was scared. I no longer understood what was happening to me. A cry came out of my heart : "God, where are you ?" At that precise moment, a surgeon leaned over me. I didn't know him and read his name on his blouse. His name was "Emmanuel", God with us !
At that point, in my mind, I no longer saw the doctor but Jesus. He was sitting on the edge of the operating table and his demeanor contrasted with the stressful atmosphere in the room. Jesus looked at me tenderly, he smiled and he was perfectly calm and confident. My anxiety is gone. I fell asleep, won by this peace. During the surgery that followed, I had hemorrhagic shock, pulmonary edema with pleural effusion, and respiratory arrest. Death was there, but so was Jesus. I came out of the coma the next day.
"Jesus knows our difficulties and he supports us. Let us fix our eyes beyond the difficulties of life."
Do you know what I think ? It was not my time to die because God had chosen to keep me alive. But he saw my anguish and rushed over to reassure me. Jesus, in his tenderness, came to comfort me and in his love, to reveal to me that I had nothing to fear.
Life gives no one a gift. Difficult times and hardships invite themselves. We are human and our first reaction is panic most of the time. But if Jesus lives in us, then the second time must come : that of prayer and help. Why ? Because Christ, our model, knew our sorrows, our sufferings, our tribulations and came out victorious. He therefore understands us perfectly. Whoever believes in Jesus is never forsaken.
First, Jesus knows your sorrows, he understands you so perfectly that he comes running when you are in pain. He takes care of you.
Second, faith allows you to see what is going on in the supernatural and move past your difficulties.
How many times do you worry about issues that have already been sorted out in the spiritual realm !
A decision for today
Jesus, I want to exercise this second gaze of faith which allows you to see as you see you. I know you are there because you are the God who takes care of me tenderly.
