God testifies !

1 Kings 14:8 – ... you have not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments and walked after me with all his heart, doing only what was right in my eyes.

When we think of King David, we can't help but think of his "fall" with Bathsheba. However, when God speaks of his servant, he does not mention this episode, which demonstrates that when he forgives, he "forgets" our faults. By speaking to Jeroboam, God attests to this wonderful testimony that David did only what was right in his eyes.

When one of our brothers or one of our sisters falls into sin while he or she knows the Lord, for many of us, he or she is only fit to be thrown into hell. We must no longer listen to this person, we must no longer approach him. "Leprosy is contagious" and who knows if it wouldn't jump out at us. No matter how much the Lord restores and restores, as He did for Peter or the prodigal son, we continue to stick the label “no longer good” on these people, often imbued with our own righteousness. By this attitude, are we not taking the place of God and being full of a spirit of judgment ?

Beloved, this attitude of condemnation is not good and it denotes a profound lack of knowledge of God's mercy ! May the Lord change our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. May we be able to participate in his work of restoration by fully welcoming those who have weakened or fallen. Let's not give access to the devil by letting him use our mouths to do his dirty work of accusation.

Yes, if you have fallen and repented by returning with all your heart to God, God speaks of you in these terms : “My servant has only done what is right in my eyes !".
