Good coverage !

1 Peter 4.8 - Above all, have ardent love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins.

You know this expression : "Ah bah this one, he is dressed for the winter" ? This expression means that a multitude of things have been said about this person that are not the nicest and that he is now dressed in these mean things.

The Word teaches us in Proverb 17.9 : "He who covers up a fault seeks love, and he who recalls it in his speeches divides friends". She tells us again in Isaiah 58.7 : "If you see a naked man, cover him, and do not turn away from your fellow man". We often interpret this verse from a material point of view, giving clothes to someone in need. Today, however, this passage of Scripture challenges us differently. In fact, in Revelation 3.17 it is written : "Because you say : I am rich, I have become rich, and I need nothing, and because you do not know that you are unhappy, miserable, poor, blind and naked”.

We find the word "nakedness" many times in the Word of God. In several passages, this nudity is in fact a place of weakness, of impurity, something shameful. So we could call it a place of sin. Our question today is : when someone is at fault and therefore we discover this nudity, how are we going to act and react ? Is it by showing and talking about this nudity to all those who want to see and hear it ? Is it by also reveling in everything that will be told to us and by telling it in our turn ? Or are we going to cover this person with our love ?

Let us not be like Ham, one of the sons of Noah, but on the contrary, let us behave like Shem and Japheth who took the mantle, put it on their shoulders, walked backwards, and covered the nakedness of their father (Genesis 9:23).
