Good morning, it's Monday !

Lamentations 3.22 and 23 (TOB) – The kindnesses of the Lord ! They are not finished ! It is that his tenderness is not finished ! They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness !

You may have gotten up this morning saying to yourself : “The weekend is already over and it’s Monday again !". You console yourself by telling yourself that next weekend is not so far away, synonymous with rest for the majority of us. Looking a little further you say to yourself : "It's almost the Easter holidays". Finally, this Monday will be a day like the others and you will take “your pain” patiently.

Even if it is good to have medium and long term visions, our verse of the day teaches us an essential truth : that of today. Today is a day that will have all its importance, which will be the manifestation of the kindnesses and tenderness of God ; a day worth living in the presence of our God. It is not a day like the others, it is THE day that the Lord has made, that it be our happiness and our joy (Psalms 118.24). And as Moses said : “Teach us to number our days well” (Psalm 90:12).

It would be a shame to miss out on what the Father of love has planned for you today because your heart and your head are absorbed by a hypothetical future. Eat the life that God gives you to the fullest, taste each moment of this day in a spirit of gratitude and tomorrow, God will be faithful to the appointment to renew the kindnesses for you scheduled for Tuesday, February 22.
