Good things are costly

You will have to suffer in the world, but take heart : I have conquered the world. John 16:33

You should not expect ease, because if you do, you are certainly destined for disappointment. Anyone who knows the Bible knows that the Christian life is equated with a sporting fight or war and that neither is easy. Jesus warned his followers to carefully count the cost, and that certainly does not mean an easy way. But there is no good thing that comes without cost.

The Christian life is the most satisfying, but only when we do everything we can. It is the Christian who tries to compromise who finds life miserable, because he has all the problems, without the comradery resulting from surrender. For every trial and trial, Christ provides an abundance of grace to endure it, and in our weakness we are strengthened.

Never let me find the easy way when you, Lord Jesus, have given everything for me.
