Have you really tasted God ?

Taste and see how good the Lord is ! Happy is the man who seeks refuge in him ! Psalm 34.9

I hated lychees, until... I moved to Reunion. The first time I ate a lychee still attached to its branch, I had a revelation : not only did I love lychees but I was a die-hard fan of this sweet, delicious and sunny delight.

Until then, the only lychees I had tested in mainland France came out of a can and didn't have much in common with the original, other than the appearance.

Many people declare themselves to be atheists, agnostics, non-practicing or turn away from faith, from God. Why ? Most of the time because they are sickened by what they have found, seen or tasted in religion.

In question, the bad behavior of people claiming to be believers but also the widespread thought of an angry, vengeful, cruel, indifferent God, overwhelmed by the problems of humanity... "Ah ! If there was a God ! Why the wars, the suffering, the death, the disease, etc. ?"

"Discover or rediscover the original flavor of divine nature."

Dear friend, dear friend, let me tell you, if this is your opinion of God, it is because you have never actually met Him. You have tasted something that looks like God but is totally distorted, and you need to truly experience who God is.

Misfortune here is the result of evil entering the world but does not come from God. God is deeply good, righteous, loving, and patient. Discover or rediscover the original flavor of divine nature. If you get close to him and smell and see how good he is, then you will never be the same, the same !

A prayer for today

O God, I don't want to trust the lies I believe about you. Reveal yourself in your true nature and overturn my conceptions. Fill me with your presence and your love ! Amen !
