He gives and he can take back
Searching the Scriptures
The Eternal gave, and the Lord took again, blessed be the name of the Eternal ! Job 1.21
Have you ever been challenged by the attitude of people who, in trials, show total submission to God ? Their words bring comfort and encouragement to those who are going through difficult situations.
Job was a model in himself, he who, stripped of all his possessions, made the choice to bless the Lord without reproaching him. In Job 1:22 it is written : "In all of this Job did not sin nor ascribe anything improper to God."
Each of us receives special attention from God, who cares for and fulfills his children in many ways every day. However, it is necessary to see him as the owner of all things. Nothing belongs to us and, when he decides to take back what he has entrusted to us, we should in no way be angry with him: he has given, he has taken back, bless his name !
Is this your attitude ? God may have taken a great deal of support out of your life and you literally feel stripped ! Like someone who has just had their leg amputated, you think you'll never be able to "walk" like before.
Understand that God does not take back for pleasure, there is meaning in everything he does. So make the choice to adopt the right attitude by trusting him. He is the Master of your life and, just as he did for Job, he will know how to show you the fullness of his goodness.
Listen the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Maybe God has taken something or someone you love, let him speak to your heart now.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example prayer : "Lord, even though you have taken things back in my life, I want to take the right attitude and believe in the goodness and righteousness of your heart. Bless your name !"
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"My God, you are and you remain the sovereign of my life. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
