He invites you to come back !

"You darken a table in front of me, in front of my opponents." Psalm 23. 5

When the shepherds bring their flocks on new pastures, they must first check the possible presence of vipers, these little snakes hidden in folds of rocks and that may sting the lambs and kill them. It is also what "our shepherd" had to do : he had to take care of this old snake called Satan, before we prepare a table in front of our opponents. He did for us what he did for Peter, he invited us to return to eat with him despite our faults and failures. See you this man who hides in the shadows : it's Peter. Tomorrow he will preach the Gospel to multitudes of men, but tonight he only knows bitter bitterly. Is the worst the fact that he betrayed Jesus or claimed that he would never do such a thing ? And not just once, but three times in a row ! Are we really different ? How many times have we said : "This time it's over, I will no longer receive the same mistakes, I will not lose time to continue these pleasures so vain. Never again !" ? We are so strong for that, and then after we cry so bitterly on our chess ! But God accepts our turnarounds : three days later, once Jesus resurrected, the angel told women : "Go tell his disciples and Peter, whom he precedes you in Galilee" (Mark 16. 7). The one who had denied the most is the only one to be mentioned by his name! When Peter arrives on the beach, that morning, tired and discouraged, the barbecue is ready and Jesus simply said to him, "Come eat" (John 21. 12). And you, did you never denied it ? We all did it, is not it ? Yet he invites you to come back, to feed you with him and to be restored in his intimacy. Do not reject his invitation !
