He is the Master of time

"Abraham fell on his face ; and laughed and said in his heart : Shall a son be born to a man of a hundred years old ? And Sarah, ninety years old, would she give birth ? Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call her by the name of Isaac" Genesis 17: 17-19

Formerly, God had made a declaration to Abraham and Sarah, telling them that they would have a very numerous posterity. Years passed, but the much-desired child was never born. Now the couple is old: a hundred years for Abraham and ninety years for Sara !

The seasons of your life belong to the Lord !

To you also God made an oath ! Unfortunately, time has gone by, and the promise seems sterile. Besides, when someone reminds you of the divine words to you, there is an inner laugh, just like Abraham. Nevertheless, do not rebelled, and calmly and patiently expect the LORD. The Lord always watches over the fulfillment of His word. Our Father is faithful to his commitment, he has not forgotten you.

While Abraham thinks of the past, the Lord who provides, will lead him to consider the future : "Sara will bring forth Isaac, at this time of next year." (Genesis 17:21).

The year you have just lived has been full of infertility, sadness, anguish and deprivation, but the Lord encourages you to look to the future. Do not be disturbed by your past. Yes, next year at the same time the Lord will give you the fulfillment of His promise. You will have your Isaac. You laugh while reading these sentences, it falls well because Isaac means : "He laughs."

The seasons of your life belong to the Lord! He alone is the Master of time !

A prayer for today

Lord, today I place in your hands my dreams and my hopes because I know that your word is "yes and amen". Help me keep my calm and confidence despite the time. Amen.
