He knows everything about you !

Psalms 139.1 to 3 - Lord, you look to the bottom of my heart, and you know everything about me : You know whether I sit down or if I rise ; long in advance, you know my thoughts. You notice if I'm outside or at home, you know everything I'm doing.

The first step of David, the author of this psalm, is to emphasize the intimacy and clairvoyance of God. He reminds us that the Lord knows everything about us; He knows our hearts, our thoughts and everything we do.

This is a good way to know if what I am doing is approved by God: by realizing that He sees everything that I am doing. Certainly there are words that I will no longer say and acts that I will no longer commit.

I would like to draw attention to this deep truth : “You know everything about me”. The human being, since the fall of Adam and Eve, feels the need to hide. He made all kinds of masks for himself to "appear" instead of "to be" and human relations go from mask to mask.

Yet our real need is to be able to be laid bare. We remain closed because we are afraid but we have a burning desire to be able to open up. Fear took root in our bad experiences and it blocks us... David knew that he was naked before his God and that it was good because God welcomed him like this. No need to hide, to be covered with shame, the Lord accepts me, knowing everything about me, as I am.

Today we have something more than David, we have Jesus who died on the cross so that we are completely cleansed of our faults. Today, in praise, be grateful to the Lord who fully accepts you and let yourself be laid bare before Him.
