He loved us at the Passion
Indeed, the message of the cross is foolishness to those who perish, but for us who are saved, it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1.18
He who is of divine condition, he did not regard his equality with God as a booty to be preserved. but he stripped himself by assuming the condition of a servant, by becoming like human beings. Recognized as a simple man. Philippians 2. 6-7
In these days when we are preparing to celebrate Easter, I offer you this video clip in English ("homemade") with French subtitles. These words highlight so many facts which seem contradictory, "these foolish things" in the eyes of the world but which nevertheless are "wisdom of God".
Madness, the wisdom of the cross
have changed humanity forever.
Madness, the wisdom of the cross
transformed my story forever.
The Servant King
humbled himself,
so that I, a simple slave,
may reign at his side.
For me the Almighty
made himself weak.
By his clothes covered with blood,
Mine are white as snow.
He was unjustly condemned.
He took away my guilt
and sanctified me.
Of the revenge of men
has sprung my forgiveness.
By his death I am saved
of death for all eternity.
The cross of Christ was a place of shame.
Yet that is what my Savior came for.
This cross was the place of a voluntary sacrifice
and the work he has done is perfect.
The cross is a place of grace.
God sent his son
die for you and me.
The cross is a place of promise
which gives us the hope of the bliss of Heaven.
The cross is a place of atonement.
The blood of Christ alone is sufficient.
This cross is the place where Christ intercedes.
My friend, Christ Jesus
is all we need.
He shouted "Why have you abandoned me?"
so that I can scream for joy
because he found me.
He shouted "It's done"
so that my sin
is completely erased.
A praise for today
Thank you Jesus for the cross, thank you for my forgiveness, thank you for eternal life. Thank you for transforming "my story" forever. Thank you for loving me madly, passionately. Amen.
