He restores my soul

Searching the Scriptures

The eternal is my shepherd. […] He restores my soul. Psalm 23.1 and 3

This verse from Psalm 23 proves how God satisfies the emotional needs of His children. The word "soul" includes the mind and the emotions.

Have you ever found yourself in situations where your mind and emotions go off the rails when you cannot sleep or rest due to pressure or worry ? It doesn't have to come to this ! Follow the "good shepherd" and he will lead you in stillness and peace.

When the psalmist writes "He restores my soul", he means that the "good shepherd" wants to help you become strong, peaceful, calm, and in good emotional health. It brings you to where you were before you felt bad.

You may have had to deal with an event that disturbed your mind and your emotions. Instead of staying in the blessing that brings peace and rest, perhaps you have started to get restless, awe and anxious ? Do not continue down this path, instead start resting in the Lord again. He will lead you back to the state where you can fully experience the peace, rest, and assurance that His presence provides. May the "good shepherd" restore your soul.

Listen to the voice of God

Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. The Lord is your Shepherd. Let him lead you to the green pastures he has planned for you.

Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, teach me to rest in you. Come and restore my soul now."

Praise God

To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, I thank you because you alone know perfectly how to appease and restore my soul. Yours is the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
