His goodness is better than life

This is one of the most quoted and sung verses of the entire Word of God : "For your kindness is better than life. My lips celebrate your praise" (Psalms 63: 3). You may be wondering : "What does it mean when you say that goodness is better than life ?"

The truth is, life is short. She passes like the grass, which is there one season and disappeared the next. But the goodness of God lasts forever. In a million years, Jesus will be as tender and loving towards us as He is now. Others may take our life, but they will never take away the goodness of God.

Think about it for a moment : God is not angry with you because of your failure. If you are ready to give up your sin, you can be forgiven and restored at this moment. The Word of God tells us that nothing stands between our Lord and us - no sin, no guilt, no thought of condemnation. You can say : "My life is a blessing to the Lord. I am able to rejoice and praise him. I am pure, free, forgiven, justified, sanctified, redeemed."

It does not matter how much those around us have sinned. God loves them all. It is for this reason that he sent his Son. And we should announce it to the world !

David said : "I do not hide your goodness and your faithfulness in the great assembly" (Psalms 40:10). It is His desire for each of us.

You have a loving Father who loves you and cares for you. He collected in a bottle each of the tears you shed. He has seen each of your needs, known each one of your thoughts. And He loves you ! If only you could grasp how tender He is to you - how patient, caring, forgiving, and blessing you are - you could not contain yourself. You would scream and praise until you no longer have a voice : "His goodness is better than life."
