His grace satisfies us !
Searching the Scriptures
All of you who are thirsty, come to the water, even the one who has no money ! Come, buy and eat ! Isaiah 55.1
We had just come out of the dentist appointment for Maria, my older daughter. We had an hour left before the ophthalmologist appointment for Anna, my second daughter. I told them : "We have time, let's go eat something !"
We stumbled upon a famous American fast food restaurant and, as I walked in, someone called out to me : "But what are you doing here ?" I recognized Thierry, my new neighbor in Ozoir-la-Ferrière, who arrived a few months ago.
He continued : "You come to eat at my place !" What a surprise to find out that he was the owner of this fast food restaurant ! He said to me : "Wait, I have something for you." He came back with a VIP card telling me : "You can eat unlimited, no time limit, whenever you want and with your family in all of our restaurants today !"
What Grace ! All three, my two daughters and I, ate well that day and of course without paying anything ! You are going to say to me : "How lucky! He must take advantage of it !" But the reality is that for the next few weeks I felt embarrassed. I told myself that I did not deserve such a beautiful gift. It took a while for me to decide to go back, when everything was already paid for for me by Thierry and it made him so happy that I took advantage of it !
Aren't we all doing the same thing ? Jesus paid the price so that we could enjoy the grace of God 24 hours a day, everywhere, unlimited, free and for eternity ! The prophet Isaiah anticipated and illustrated this grace to come in Jesus as follows : "Even he who has no money ! Come, buy and eat !" (Isaiah 55.1)
Are you depriving yourself of the grace of God ? Do you feel distant from him, guilty, unworthy, but at the same time, hungry and thirsty for his presence ? Run day after day in the arms of your heavenly Father who so desires to satisfy you with all his benefits, in all areas of your life : spiritual, emotional, relational and material !
You are a VIP for God !
Listen to the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Let God communicate to you what it means to be a VIP in his eyes.
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Father, I do not deserve your grace, but I decide today not to deprive myself of it and to receive in prayer what is due to me as a child and heir (third) of God. I believe that today you will provide for my every need because you are my Daddy and you will always take care of me and my family ! I ask you in the name of your Son Jesus, amen."
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"Lord, what a privilege to be a VIP in your eyes. I have your undivided attention at all times. Thank you for this beautiful gift. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
