His promise is just a little further

"For you need perseverance, that after you have fulfilled the will of God, you will obtain what is promised you" (Hebrews 10:36).

The author of the Epistle to the Hebrews detected fatigue and impatience to insinuate themselves among believers. By sending them his letter, they wanted to identify for them the most effective weapon of Satan against those who tire of doing well: impatience with God.

That's how it works. After a long period of affliction, the devil implants this thought : "God knows that you have trusted Him and you have been faithful until now. You would never question His will and ability to help you. So where is He after all this time ? Why does not He help you ? Is this how He responds to the faithfulness of His servants ?"

Satan uses exactly this kind of strategy today, against many saints, imploring impatience with God. He tells you that the Lord will not respond to your need - that you will live like a second class Christian, defeated and left to yourself for the rest of your life.

Perhaps you hear Satan's accusing voice : "You're going to lose your job. You're going to lose your house. All your prayers and all your confidence are vain. It is obvious that you have failed in faith. The time has come for you to give up and go back."

Think about what the author of the letter to the Hebrews said to those suffering saints. What a message to deliver people mired in serious trouble ! They had lost all their possessions and possessions, and they endured a long struggle. And now they are told by someone with authority : "You lack patience. Believe and wait only. The promise comes."

Yes, it is difficult to be patient, to confide in the Lord and not be deceived by Satan. Know that His promise is just a little further and He has not abandoned you.
