"I heard the voice of the Lord, saying : Who shall I send, and who shall walk for us ?" I said : "Here I am, send me." Isaiah 6: 8

When Isaiah received a personal revelation from God, his life was forever transformed. From that day on, his gaze on his environment was no longer the same. The vision of the "Lord sitting on a very high throne" was at the root of this change. Isaiah experienced God in his holiness and saw seraphim crying out to one another : "Holy, holy is the Lord of hosts, all the earth is full of his glory."

Make a commitment today to dedicate your life to the service of God. Accept where you want to go.

This vision filled him with terror. He had certainly heard of God, but nothing had prepared him for such a personal encounter. He felt its impact when "the doors were shaken in their foundations" to the sound of God's voice.

More than ever, he became aware of his insignificance in the face of such a holy and powerful God. He understood that his lips were unclean and that he lived "in the midst of a people whose lips are unclean." He had seen God. He felt unworthy but God raised him up and allowed him to experience his mercy, grace and forgiveness.

However, there was another step to take. Isaiah heard God ask him, "Who will I send, and who will walk for us ?" Because his life had been transformed in depth, he felt urged to respond. He realized that God was looking for men ready to devote their lives to His service, ready to talk to others about this wonderful God. Therefore he answered, "Behold me, send me."

Make a commitment today to dedicate your life to the service of God. Accept where you want to go. Look for a deeper, more personal and intimate relationship with him. Humble yourself before him. Adore it. However, do not stop there : devote all your life to it. He is worthy. He is holy. He is the Almighty God !

A prayer for today

Father, I aspire to a more intimate relationship with you. Thank you for forgiving my sins. I dedicate my life, my talents and my resources. I am ready to serve you. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
