My best friend often asks me about the existence of God. I offer him quotes from the text of the Bible, but no luck : by subtle reasoning, he opposes what God says.

So many people reject God. On the other hand, to those who seek to know him, the Bible answers : "You will seek me and you will find me, because you will seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13). Before asking questions about the existence of God, we should ask ourselves : "Am I not rather looking for arguments to prove to myself that he does not exist ?"

The Bible reveals to me who is God, the Creator, who brought into existence, in its first beauty, all that appears to us. More than that : "God appeared as a man". Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was born and lived on earth to show perfectly, with humility, the characters of God : love, light, truth, forgiveness... With love Jesus showed me how great God is and how great is his grace and patience towards me. The gospel tells us : Jesus Christ "was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not" (John 1:10).

God made himself known by facts. The created nature, the coming of his Son, are tangible proofs of his existence. However, only faith in the Word of God can enlighten us, give us the conviction that it exists. "If you believe, you will see the glory of God" (John 11:40).
