God saved me by touching my heart. When my faith and devotion to Him grew, He began to communicate to me knowledge and understanding, an understanding of His ways, a desire to study, learn and grow ever more in His wisdom. It is a process of teaching and maturation, a process that will continue until the day of my death, but it began with a call to my emotions and not to my intellect.
I grew up in a family that knew nothing about Jesus. My mother and father were children of darkness, immersed in a style of occultism, blind to the light of Jesus' wonderful grace. I remember with precision my mother's eyes. They were cold, dark and empty. Eyes without expression. There was nothing there : no love, no feeling, no compassion ... nothing but the darkness. Looking at her face was like watching the gulf of hell. At times, I had the impression that Satan himself was looking at me through the sterile, empty eyes of my mother.
By the grace of God, I was able to take my mother and father to the Lord later. She became a powerful witness of God's wonderful forgiveness and for the first time I could look into her eyes and see the love and compassion I had always wanted to see. The void was gone, and in its place there was pure beauty, a soul free from hatred and despair. She had become a child of freedom.
How could we remain silent when we have witnessed the miraculous transformation of a soul freed from the clutches of Satan ? Once we have witnessed what Jesus can do in and through a life that submits to His will, we are changed forever. We begin to sigh after all the wisdom and power that the Holy Spirit offers. We can not stop pleading for the lost, seeking to reach them through the message of God.
