How God constructed your faith : the delay

"The time has not yet come for this revelation to come true, but it will be confirmed in due time. Wait with confidence, even if it seems long: what I announce will happen without delay." Habacuc 2.3

 

Once the decision is made to move toward the dream that God places in your heart, you can expect a delay. God will not realize your dream immediately, because the delay is another step in the consolidation of your faith. In Habakkuk 2, God said : "The time has not yet come for this revelation to come true, but it will be confirmed in due time."
Have you ever been in a hurry when God was not ?

During this stage, you will probably begin to ask : "When, Lord ? when will you answer my prayer ?"

And we hate to wait, whether at the doctor's, in the traffic jams, at the restaurant, or at Christmas, or in any situation. But what we hate the most is waiting for God's intervention.

Have you ever been in a hurry when God was not ? It is terribly annoying! You are ready, but not God. God wants to work on you before doing it on the project. Each believer must pass through the University of Learning Expectation (UAA). Some of us still have not graduated !

- Noah has waited 120 years since the day he started building the ark until the rain came.

- Abraham was promised that he would become the father of a multitude of nations, and he had no children before the age of 99.

- God told Moses that it would be he who would free his people from 400 years of slavery, and then he had waited 40 years in the desert.

- Joseph spent years in prison before God raised him and placed him at the head of his kingdom.

- After being anointed as king, David waited years before ascending the throne.

We all have to go through those waiting times. Even Jesus waited 30 years in his carpenter's shop before starting his public ministry.

Why do we wait ? This time teaches us to trust God. We learn that his timing is perfect. One of the truths we need to learn is this : the delay of God never annihilates his plan.

A remark for today

A delay is not a disavowal. Like children, we must learn the difference between "no" and "not yet". We often think that God says "no", but in reality, he says "not yet".
