I am part of the family of God !

“We are now members of the family of God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ...” 1 Peter 1.3

God wanted a big family, so He created you to be part of it! Our human families are wonderful, but very fragile, often torn apart by divorce, estrangement, age and of course death. On the other hand, our spiritual family will be maintained in eternity. The spiritual bonds between us have a permanence that the bonds of blood do not have here. On the day you were born into the family of God, you received an incredible bundle of privileges : a new last name, a likeness of your Father, privileges of access, and a promise of everlasting inheritance. Paul wrote : “I want you to know how rich is the glorious inheritance which he has reserved for those who are his own” (Ephesians 1:18). What, in fact, does this heritage include ? First, the privilege we will have to live with Him forever (1 Thessalonians 5:10). Then the honor of being transformed into the image of Christ (1 John 3.2). Then the assurance of never again suffering any physical pain, disease or death (Revelation 21.4). Finally the promise of receiving the exciting rewards and responsibilities that will be bestowed upon us in the most extraordinary world ever imagined (Mark 9. 41). What a fantastic legacy awaits you ! You are much richer than you think ! What awaits you on the other side is priceless, eternal, untouchable and perfect. No one can take it away from you. This heritage cannot be destroyed by wars, economic or natural disasters. Your eternal inheritance, which is far from your retirement, should be the goal of your aspirations and should excite you to the utmost ! Whenever you feel hopeless, rejected, or lost, think for a minute and say to yourself : “I am truly family of God !”
