I love you : and you, do you love me ?

John 13:34 - ... Love one another...

Love, such a beautiful word that we pronounce so easily. More than a word, it's a verb, which means it's an action. Here then : does love mean to act also ? I invite you to read and meditate on 1 Corinthians 13.4 to 13.8.

We are told, for example, that he who loves : his heart is wide open to others. He is helpful, full of kindness and benevolence. He seeks to be constructive and enjoys doing good to others. Oh my, quite a program, isn't it ? We love that others do us good, serve us, be full of kindness and benevolence towards us, but us ?

We are also told that love is not irritable, it does not bitter against others. He's not touchy. Oh oh, it looks like there are little things to change ! Love covers everything, it suffers, endures and forgives. This is something we don’t really like ! Unless it's just me ?

We are also told in 1 Corinthians 13.2 : "And when I had the gift of prophecy, the knowledge of all mysteries and all knowledge, when I would even have all the faith to the point of transporting mountains, if I did not 'have no charity, I am nothing”. Whoops ! This changes everything, no : bishops, prophets... all the titles we want to give ourselves, all the knowledge we have been able to acquire, everything is shattered under the scanner of love ! This is sobering, isn't it ? If I don't have love, I am nothing ! Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Today my question is : what motivates my actions, what needs to change in my heart ? We need to be visited, moved by the Love of our Savior in order to be able to love as He loved us. Lord, come and shake us with your love.
