I suffer, you suffer, we suffer !

1 Corinthians 12:26 - And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it ; if one member is honored, all members rejoice with it.

The image of the body, which Paul uses to talk about the Church, has always been a powerful illustration! It's true that if one part of your body hurts, that pain radiates through the whole of it. Likewise, when one of your limbs feels relief, you feel well-being throughout your body. Paul tells us that it should be so in the body of the Church but we have serious efforts to make, don't you think ?

When a limb is in pain, the general attitude is more to criticism and blame than compassion (which is to suffer with it). Likewise, when a member is honored, it more often causes envy and jealousy than enthusiasm, right ?

The Church is not "yet" perfect, we must strive for this perfection and the goal to be reached has been drawn ! If the body is not united, if the limbs do not come together, we will be weak in the face of the challenges that we are called upon to face. Beloved, let us realize that we need each other, our spiritual "prosperity" depends on it !

The apostle John tells us : I wish that you prosper in all respects and be in good health, as the state of your soul prospers (3 John 2). If the "soul" of the Church manifests love within her, that same Church will be healthy. She will be able to face all the attacks of the "microbes" of the power of darkness and she will make "envy" this world which is lost.

Let's stop arguing, quarreling and hurting each other. Let’s make a firm decision to “support” (support, encourage) the suffering member ! Let’s make the same firm decision to rejoice without a second thought when a member is honored by God ! Let us sincerely repent of our propensity for individualism to be at one with our brothers and sisters.
