I was afraid to be alone and do stupid things

"Our little Amélie had stayed in the house while we accompanied friends to their car. A few moments later, she joined us saying :

- I was afraid to be and do stupid things"

When we are alone, when no one is watching us, we run the risk of indulging in evil. But the Christian is never alone ! King David said : "Eternal !... You know when I sit down and when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar" (Psalm 139. 1, 2). God sees us and does not want us to give in to temptation. He gives us resources to be victorious :

 - Prayer : When temptation comes, ask God for the strength to overcome it, and what is the path to follow.

- The Word of God : When Jesus was tempted by the devil in the desert, he replied each time : "It is written" (Luke 4. 3-12). The Bible is a living word that the Holy Spirit uses to strengthen our faith and give us wisdom in difficult situations.

- Flight : Paul invites Timothy to flee the passions of youth. To flee is also to cut certain relationships, to know how to turn off the television or disconnect from the Internet.

- The company of other Christians : Do not remain alone in the face of temptation. Let us strive to live true relationships between believers. Let's pray, let's read the Bible together. And if we have succumbed, confess it to the Lord. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all iniquities” (1 John 1:9).
