If I can touch his garment...

For she (the woman) said within herself : If I can only touch his garment, I shall be healed. Matthew 9.21

The disease assailed me like an eagle on its prey : poisoned a few hours earlier by a pesticide, I was suddenly overwhelmed by nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, headaches and high fever. The vibrant ten-year-old boy that I was 24 hours earlier was suddenly on the verge of death. Unable to move or even open eyes in daylight. Called urgently, our doctor diagnosed toxic hepatitis :

- The prognosis is very reserved, he said in a low voice to my parents. If the liver doesn't hold up, we won't be able to do anything. So, since you prefer not to hospitalize him, I withdraw my responsibility...

In fact, the disease continued to worsen. One day, the fever climbed to 41°, and in a state of extreme weakness, I felt like I was dying. I sank into a pre-comatose state and I had the strange feeling that my mind was detached from my body.

I painfully opened my eyes to see my mother and my sisters in the bedroom doorway. Their faces bathed in tears, they began to sing an old hymn, the words of which went straight to my heart : "If only I can touch his garment, the hem is enough because it heals completely."

A great sweetness, a great peace, but also an incredible power emanated from the melody and the lyrics of this song. Despite my great weakness, it was as if Jesus was telling me that what he had done in the past for a sick woman, he was going to do for me if only I could touch his garment, that is, have confidence total in him.

I did it very simply by placing all my childhood faith in Jesus Christ. From then on, and to the great surprise of our doctor, my health improved day by day. I fell ill at the beginning of the summer holidays, my convalescence began before the start of the school year. I still remained very weak for several months but I recovered without any sequelae ! May Jesus Christ be thanked, his Name be praised ! Know that if we ask something according to his will, he listens to us.

Listen the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God wants to say. No matter what situation you are facing, you can touch his garment.

Praying is simple. Speak to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, you did the impossible in the life of this woman who had suffered for years. Simply because she believed in you. I want to touch your garment, put my trust in you to the situation I'm going through."

Praise God

To praise God is to express our gratitude to him. You have probably already seen God working in your health or in that of someone close to you. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a time to thank the Lord.

Act today

Now, deepen what you have received. Do you need to “touch” the garment of Jesus, for yourself or for someone you know ? What prayer is the Holy Spirit inviting you to pray ?

Honor the Lord

Our journey for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

"Lord, thank you for still today you perform miracles. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
