"He is like a tree planted near a stream of water, which gives its fruit in its season, and whose foliage does not wither." Psalm 1.3

 

Imagine a tree, with deep roots, a majestic trunk, magnificent branches, delicious fruit ... You see ? Well, that tree is you! In any case, it is an image of what God wants to do with your life.
If you abide in Jesus and Jesus abides in you, He promises that you will bear much fruit.

Yes, your life may be like a tree planted near a stream of water. This stream of water reminds me of a place that I particularly like in Israel. One has to walk in the desert for a few kilometers and there, suddenly, one discovers the sources of David. It is a refreshing place with springs, a waterfall, a natural swimming pool, lots of greenery and trees whose roots never run out of water.

As soon as you get there, you feel immediately refreshed and renewed. David himself, who probably wrote this Psalm 1, frequented this place 3,000 years ago. Perhaps he was inspired by this place to write this Psalm !

In our lives, there are times of desert during which it is important to continue to advance, at all costs. But there are also times of refreshing from the Lord as written in the Bible : "Times of refreshing come from the Lord." Acts 3:20 God has provided for your life an unalterable, inexhaustible, abundant, refreshing source And delicious.

Then we are told about fruit ...
This tree gives its fruit in its season.
Christ Himself said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches : he that dwelleth in me, and in whom I dwell, bear much fruit." John 15: 5

How can you dwell in Jesus Christ and bear fruit ?

    Turning your thoughts to him.
    Ask him for advice.
    Listening to his voice.
    Reading His word.
    By putting his teachings into practice.
    By letting the Holy Spirit fill you.

If you abide in Jesus and Jesus abides in you, He promises that you will bear much fruit.

An encouragement for today

You will experience refresh times. It is a physical, spiritual, moral, emotional and relational refreshment. And as you begin a new season of your life, the burning of the desert will fade to give way to renewed joy and fruit that will satisfy your surroundings !
