You were created in the image and likeness of God. You were made for the fellowship of God, and your heart can never be satisfied without his fellowship. Just as iron is attracted to a magnet, the hungry soul is drawn to God. Although you, like thousands of others, may feel in a state of sin that the world is more attractive and more to your liking, one day - perhaps even now that you read these words - you will recognize that there is something deep within you that cannot be satisfied by the earth alloy. Then with David, the psalmist who had tasted the delights of sin and found them unsatisfactory, you will say : "Oh God, you are my God, I seek you. My soul thirsts for you, my body yearns for you, you in a parched dry land, without water. "

Prayer for the day

How much I long for you, God, and yet so often my heart is far from your direction. Like David, I desire a pure heart.
