In Jerusalem, Jews and Christians pray together for peace
The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast will bring together Jews and Christians on June 9 and 10 to pray for peace in Jerusalem and Israel.
Political crisis, pandemic, deadly fighting between the Hebrew state and Hamas in the Gaza Strip : Israel has faced many challenges this year.
It is precisely to pray for peace in Jerusalem and in Israel that Jews and Christians will come together for the annual Jerusalem prayer breakfast on June 9 and 10. The event will also be accessible online, and the organizers are encouraging those interested in attending to gather as a group to pray together, even from abroad.
Albert Veksler, director of the prayer breakfast says that praying for the peace of Jerusalem follows a biblical command. In an interview with CBN News, he said that “prayer works and has brought miracles”. "Of course, we have to repent of our evil ways and our sins and [God] said he would heal the country," he added.
A healing he believes is necessary for Israel, but also around the world.
“I think this healing is needed not only here in Israel, it is needed all over the world. "
The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast (JPB) is a prayer movement initiated and chaired by the member of the Knesset [the unicameral parliament of the State of Israel sitting in Jerusalem], Robert Ilatov, and co-chaired by the member of Congress American Michele Bachmann. Each year, it brings together influential government leaders and Christian leaders to pray for peace in Israel.
