In the eyes of the Father

When I speak of total trust in Christ, I mean not only in His saving power but also in His power that keeps us alive. We must trust His Spirit to keep us and make us like Christ.

There was a time, you were alienated, separated from God by your evil works. What good works have you done to restore things with Him? Any ! No one has ever been able to surrender or to keep oneself holy. We are brought into the holiness of Christ only by faith, trusting in what the Word of God says : "If you are in Christ, you are holy because He is holy."

"And you, who were once strangers and enemies through your thoughts and evil deeds, he has now reconciled to you by his death in the body of his flesh, to make you appear before him holy, blameless and blameless, if at least you remain steadfast and unshakeable in faith" (Colossians 1: 21-23).

Note the sentence : "If you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith." Jesus said : "Continue to trust me, to live by faith. I will present you holy, blameless and without reproach before the Father. "

Beloved, all this is the work of sanctification of the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit gives you the power to mortify the works of the flesh, He guides you with his conviction.

There are no degrees of holiness, only degrees of maturity in Christ. You can be a new convert and yet be absolutely holy in Jesus. So do not compare ! It's foolishness to compare yourself with someone you think is "holy." We are measured on the same scale : the holiness of Christ. And if we are in Him, His holiness is ours in equal measure.

Never look at another Christian leader again, saying : "Oh! I would love to be as holy as him !" Perhaps you do not have this person's discipline, or his life of prayer, and perhaps you struggle more than he does. But he is not more accepted by the Father than you.
