In the family

In Mark 5 we see a person who was possessed by demons. This is the most severe case of demonic possession recorded in the Bible. A legion of demons lived in this man. He lived among the graves and no one could bind him, not even with a chain. Night and day, he cried among the graves and in the mountains, bruising himself with stones... After saving him, the Lord said to him : "Go to your house, to yours, and tell them all this that the Lord did for you, how he had mercy on you" (Mark 5:19).

Once you have been saved, the Lord wants you to tell your family, your neighbors, your friends, your colleagues that you are now a saved person. You should tell them not only that you believe in Jesus, but also all the good things the Lord has done for you. He wants you to confess and tell others what has happened to you. Thus, other lights will be lit, the salvation will spread, and it will not stop with you.

What a pity that many souls in Christian families are on the path of eternal perdition ! Some of our parents, our children, family members and some of our friends have never heard the Word of Christ from our own mouth. They only have the blessing and joy of the present age, without the hope of the age to come. Why should we refrain from telling what the Lord has done for us ? They are close to us, and if they do not hear the Word from our mouth, who will they hear ?

To witness to our family, we must show them how wonderful a change has been in our lives since we believe in the Lord. Only then will they listen and believe. We must be more righteous ; we forget ourselves more, love more, be more generous, and more joyful than before. They will not believe us if there is no change in our behavior. At the same time, we need to witness the reason for this change.
