In the street (continued)

One of the things that scares many Christians is going to talk about Jesus on the street. As fraternal meals are always a huge success, street evangelism does not meet any. I do not believe that talking about Jesus in the street is a call reserved for the ministry of evangelist. I think it's the call of all Christians. All Christians are called to do the work of an evangelist and to reconcile the world with God by simply sharing their faith. We are witnesses, and a witness testifies !

I challenge you to go out especially in the street for the sole purpose of talking about Jesus. According to a survey that I did with hundreds of French-speaking Christians around the world, 55% of them had never gone out on the street for the sole purpose of announcing the gospel to someone. Do it this week, plan for just one hour to do it. I'm sure you have one hour available this week ! Saturday afternoon ? Sunday just after the church ? Tuesday just after work ? At the lunch break ? Show God your love for him and his Word, and your obedience. Do not look for excuses by turning off your consciousness. God has already heard everything from Christians about why they can not go out in the street talking about him. Show your self-confidence, your confidence in the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes I sit on a bench and wait a bit, until an opportunity arises. Sometimes I go "randomly" to talk to people. Sometimes I use special circumstances, such as someone who looks lost, or who box, or another who contemplates the beauty of the landscape. There is no one way to do it, you just have to be led by love.

Talking with a young man in the street, from the United States, he told me that his father was a pastor. I imagine he had to pray for God to put Christians on his path. I exhorted him to give up his life and live for God. Another day I spoke to a group of young people, one of whom was cured of an illness he had been dragging since childhood. A real miracle. You can do it because it does not come from you.
