In this year, make God your source
Searching the Scriptures
The land you are going to possess is a land of mountains and valleys, and it drinks the waters of the rain from heaven. Deuteronomy 11:11
This year, turn to God for all your needs : "The land you are going to enter to take possession of [...] drinks the waters of the rain from heaven."
No matter which political party is in power, interest rates, the real estate market, or the job market, believe that God has all your needs met. He can use different people to do it !
Jesus said : "Give, and it will be given to you ; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your bosom" (Luke 6:38). God will use people to bless you, but he alone is the source of your supply. Never forget it.
Look within yourself, and you will know what your shortcomings are. Look around you, and you will learn that others are going through the same battles. Look to God, and you will find that He can do "infinitely more than anything we ask or think" (Ephesians 3:20).
Remember that verse at the center of the Bible : "Better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man" (Psalm 118.8). Sometimes God will let you hit rock bottom to show you that in the end he is all you need! Note the phrase "rain from heaven".
This brings to mind another promise of God : "You can put me to the test on this, I, the Lord of the universe. You will see that I will open the floodgates of heaven for you and that I will help you. will be full of blessings" (Malachi 3:10). This year, obey God, and heaven's blessings will be on you.
Listen the voice of God
Let’s take the time to listen to what God means. Where do you need to let go to make God your source ?
Praying is easy. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and he can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, I ask your forgiveness for all the times I thought I could do everything on my own. Today, I choose to proclaim that all my sources are in you. Be the Master of my life !"
Praise God
To praise God is to show him our gratitude. What are your subjects of recognition today ? Take a moment to thank the Lord.
Act today
Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.
Honor the Lord
Our route for the day comes to an end. Let us pray together to honor our God.
"My Father, what a benevolent God you are ! Thank you for the rain from heaven which makes my 'desert' bloom again. Yours be the reign, the power and the glory, amen !"
