Is it sufficient ?

John 6:9 to 11 - There is a young boy here who has five barley loaves and two fishes ; but what is that for so many people ? Jesus said : "Make them sit down." There was a lot of grass in this place. So they sat down, numbering about five thousand men. Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated ; likewise he gave them fish, as many as they wanted.

Let's stop for a moment and reread this scripture passage together. There is a young boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish ; but what is that for so many people ? Jesus said : "Make them sit down." There was a lot of grass in this place. So they sat down, numbering about five thousand men. Jesus took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed them to those who were seated ; likewise he gave them fish, as many as they wanted.

These verses are amazing. You can not find ? Here is a crowd and a young boy who has only five loaves of bread and two fish. What did he do ? He gave them away. He gave his little bit in the hands of our Lord. A lesson for each of us. Give our little bit to the Lord and let him be.

But as the Lord loves to teach us, there is not only that we can learn from this story. No, let's look at what the Master did : He gave thanks. Let's face it, if it had been us, what would we have done ? We would certainly have explained to God that five loaves of bread and two fish was not enough and that He had to realize that we needed more. We love to explain ourselves to God, don't you ? Or we would have started crying and begging God : “Lord, show us where to find food to feed all of his people” !

If it is true that it is written in Philippians 4: 6 : “Do not worry about anything ; but in everything, make your needs known to God through prayers and supplications, with thanksgiving”. It is also said in Ephesians 5:20 : "Give thanks continually for all things to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ".

In our situation what did Jesus do ? He gave thanks. Oh what a lesson! What a teaching ! He thanked God for what He had in his hands. What do you have in your hand today ? What do you do with what's in your hand ? Are you looking at the lack or are you thanking God for what He has already accomplished, for what He has already given to you ?

Maybe you reading this, you are discouraged, you seem unable to achieve the goals you have in your heart, you bring your complaints before the throne of God but the sky seems brass. Today I encourage you to praise God, to thank Him for all that He has already placed in your hand, for all that He has already accomplished. Just thank Him and distribute what you have already received from Him. The rest is up to him and he will do the multiplication.

Good reflection.
