Is your vaccination record up to date ?

“Then all who trust in You will rejoice, they will be glad forever, and You will protect them.” Psalm 5:12

With the Covid-19 pandemic, the subject of vaccines is more than ever on the agenda ! The role of a vaccine is to protect us by stimulating our antibodies to make us more resistant to disease. However, protection is not automatic : certain rules must be observed, such as the frequency of boosters, and the dosage of the vaccine. If we have to move to foreign countries or risk areas, more vaccinations are needed. As we live in a land corrupted by sin, nothing is perfect or 100% guaranteed. Is it the same with regard to divine protection ?

1- To benefit from it, contrary to what some would like to believe, it is essential to respect some basic rules :

a- we must remain attached to the Lord : “Since he is attached to me, I will deliver him ; I will protect him, since he knows my name” (Psalm 91. 14). God makes the rain fall and the sun shine on the righteous and the unrighteous (Matthew 5:45), but He makes the difference between His children and others. Its protection is conditional on our attachment.

b- we must listen to the Lord : “He who listens to Me will dwell in safety. He will live quietly and will not have to fear any harm” (Proverbs 1.33).

c- we must recognize His authority over our life : “He who fears the Lord has a powerful support, and his children have refuge with him” (Proverbs 14. 26).

d- show faith : “Take in all circumstances the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of evil” (Ephesians 6:16).

2- If you are afraid to go out and meet people for fear of falling victim to a virus, know that while human vaccines are not perfect, divine protection is not subject to human weaknesses. The promises of His Word are the best vaccines against the viruses of sin, temptation, physical and moral suffering in our daily life. His word to you today : “get vaccinated” every morning by immersing yourself in His Word !
