"It's a miracle ! God protected it" : Baby survives knife attack on Brazilian nursery

The mother of the baby who survived a knife attack inside the nursery speaks of a miracle and thanks God for protecting her son.

Tuesday, May 4, a knife attack took place in a nursery in the town of Saudades in Brazil. Three toddlers and two employees were killed by an 18-year-old teenager, who then turned his gun on him.

Among the man's victims, only one baby, aged 1 year and 8 months, survived his injuries. He has undergone multiple surgeries on his neck, chest, abdomen and legs and has now been released from the children's hospital where he was admitted.

Her mother, Adriana Martins, says it is a "miracle".

"Mothers Day. The best day of my life. [My son] was born a second time. It's a miracle ! God protected him and made him alive today. I have in my arms the gift that no money can pay. The word is gratitude today and forever, thanking, thanking and thanking God and all who went to great lengths to save him."
