It stops with me !

Demolish the altar of Baal which belongs to your father. Judges 6.25

When the angel of the Lord calls Gideon, he is threshing the wheat in the wine press to protect it from the Midianites. (Judges 6.11) It is funny, because just God wanted to use Gideon to annihilate the forces of Midian and to deliver Israel.

But first some family disputes had to be settled, such as the altar dedicated to Baal that his father had erected and which had been in the family for years. God said to him : "Tear down the altar of Baal which belongs to your father [...]. Then you will build [...] an altar dedicated to the Lord your God." (Judges 6.25-26)

Realize that things like anger, addictions, abuse, mistreatment, can be part of your family history, but they don't have to affect your future. God not only wants to heal your heart and your wounds, but He wants to use you to preserve your children. Mud from the past can be washed away without delay. You don't have to pass on to your children what your ancestors passed on to you. Bring it out into the open and place it before the Lord. Highlighting leads to healing.

Enlist the help of a seasoned Christian counselor. Things will not happen overnight. The damage you sustained during your growing years takes time to heal. God will work with you day by day until you are healed. Let the process begin.

Stand up with confidence, take control of your life and say : "It ends with me, here and now."

Listen to the voice of God

Let's take the time to listen to what God means. Ask God if there are still any Baal altars in your life to be demolished, as Gideon did.

Praying is simple. Talk to God as you would your closest friend. God loves you and He can hear everything. Here is an example of a prayer : "Lord, show me what is part of my family history and which should no longer influence my life. Reveal to me through your Holy Spirit and place on my path trusted advisers who me. will help put an end to this."

Praise God

To praise God is to show Him our gratitude. Today, what are your subjects of recognition ? Take a moment to thank the Lord for this.

Act today

Now dig deeper into what you have received. What can you do to apply what God has told you ? Write down the concrete actions you can take.

Honor the Lord

Our route for the day ends. Let us pray together to honor our God.

“Lord, today I resolve to stand up with confidence and take control of my life. I declare with faith that“ It ends with me, here and now. ”To you be the reign, the power and glory forever. So be it !"
