Jesus knows...

"When he heard that Lazarus was sick, he remained two days in the place where he was." John 11: 6

Lazarus was gravely ill, he was dying. Completely defeated, his sisters sent for Jesus. They revealed the situation to him and reminded him that Lazarus was not a man like the others but the one he loved.

Jesus knew the end of history ...

When the Lord learned of Lazarus' sickness, he appeased those who were worried about him by explicitly telling them that the purpose was not the death of his friend but the glory of God. Strangely, he did not immediately go to the rescue of his friend but decided to stay two more days in the place where he was ... Why ? Just because Jesus knew the end of history and how Lazarus would return to life. The assurance of Jesus concerning Lazarus' resurrection had no equivalent but the misunderstanding of those who expected his help. The end of the narrative gave him reason, the glory of God was revealed.

The assurance of Jesus in this story is breathtaking. While all are worried, worried by anxiety, he remains quiet because he knows ... Yes he knows ! He knows the end of everything.

You run from right to left, you feel that the Lord has forgotten you, that he will never intervene in your favor. You said : "But why is it so long, I prayed, and it does not come, worse I have the impression that it neglects me in my trial ..." The Lord did not leave you because you are engraved on the palm of his hands. Even if your parents abandoned you, Jesus would remain with you.

God alone knows the times and circumstances, trust him. In his time he will act.

A prayer for today

Lord, I understand that my life is in your hands and that only you, you know ... I choose to trust you and not worry any more. Amen.
