Jesus wants to take the time to take care of you

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary wife of Clopas and Mary of Magdala. Jesus saw his mother and, near her, the disciple he loved. He said to his mother : Woman, here is your son. Then he said to the disciple : Here is your mother. From that moment the disciple took her to his home. John 19.25-27

We can take it for granted that the busier we are, the less time we have for others. Is not it true ? Usually, if someone comes to me while I'm busy doing a task, I ask them to be patient or come back later.

If there was a single time in Jesus' life that he was occupied, it was when he solved the problem of humanity by dying on the cross. Beyond his physical and emotional suffering, Jesus fought against demonic powers. In the midst of it all, his mother and the disciple he loved stood at his feet. If Jesus had acted like most men, he would have said : "Go and cry further because at this moment I have no time for you, I am solving the problem of humanity !"

"No, Jesus is not too busy."

Jesus never said such a thing, and in the midst of his suffering and his occupation, he came to take a parenthesis to deal with those who were at the foot of the cross.

In the midst of six billion people, the Internet, natural disasters... Jesus today may take a time to take care of you. No, he's not too busy. Come to him ; like Mary and John, bring him your suffering.

Often we run from right to left but Jesus calls us to come to the foot of the cross, where everything has been accomplished.

A prayer for today

Lord, I realize that I am precious to you. You want to take time to take care of me. This is why I do not want to run from left to right, but I want to come and bow down at your feet, for you are the source of life.
