Keep your eyes on the goal !
“Forgetting what is behind and carrying me towards what is in front.” Philippians 3:13
The poorest man in the world is not the one who has no money, but the one who has no vision for his life. But any vision requires focus and full commitment. If you invest in too many adventures, you will not accomplish anything worthwhile and remain mediocre in everything. If you take on too many commitments, you can be sure that failures will happen. Some tasks can be great on their own without you having to commit to doing them. When your commitment book is already filled with the tasks that God has entrusted to you, know how to refuse the news that are offered to you. Saying “no” with firmness and determination will free you from unfounded hopes and the unhealthy desire to seek the approval of men instead of that of God. Saying "no" today doesn't always mean "no". If you go into the heart of every battle you will quickly run out of strength and fail in the important tasks that have been entrusted to you. Fighting for a cause that is already lost or that will bring no tangible results is like pouring tons of water to put out the fire in an old useless cabin. If no life is in danger, let it burn. Better if you save your energy for worthwhile battles or if your family's future is at stake. You will fail for sure if you fight for a dead end cause, if you fight at the wrong time, if you are fighting for a cause that is not your own, if you are fighting just to prove something to yourself, or if the battle is already lost, but you don't want to admit it out of vanity ! Keep your eyes on the goals that matter. Keep your eyes fixed on the reward that God has placed before you. If the enemy cannot defeat you, he will do anything to distract you and disqualify you from the race by encouraging you to make bad decisions. Whether he wins or succeeds in wasting your time is all good for him, and you are a loser every time.
