Known, consecrated and established...

"I knew you... I had consecrated you, I had established you." Jeremiah 1. 5

God thus speaks to Jeremiah : “Before I formed you in your mother's womb, I knew you, and before you came out of her womb, I had consecrated you, I had established you prophet of the nations.” To you too He says the same thing. He knew you before you were even born, He had chosen and consecrated you for Himself, and He has now set you apart or set you apart to represent Him here on earth. What does this mean ?

1- He knew you. The word know means that He knew you intimately, that He knew everything about you, while your fingers were still shapeless, your heartbeats were not visible on the screen of the scanner, and the doctor could not not yet determine if you were a boy or a girl ! David said : “In your book were all the days written for me, before any of them existed” (Psalm 139:16). God knew your destiny, since He had foreseen it Himself, and He never stopped providing you with what you need to succeed and accomplish the mission He wants to entrust to you.

2- He has set you apart and consecrated you. Men can plan, but only God can accomplish what He has chosen and sustain those He has set apart for His service. Even if your relatives or your brothers and sisters did not know how to recognize your talents, the important thing is that you are consecrated by God. He adds : “You will go to everyone I send you to, and you will say whatever I command you. Fear them not, for I am with you to deliver you, saith the Eternal” (Jeremiah 1:7-8).

3- He has established you as His representative. He might say to you : “I created you to be incompetent on your own. I have molded you so that you cannot settle where I do not want you to go. I created you to wander and feel lost until the day you find Me ! This is why you feel uncomfortable in certain places or around certain people. You will find your place nowhere far from Me, for I have chosen you, set you apart and established for My service !”
