Learn to live like Jesus !

“Be instructed by me... and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11. 29

You may have noticed that, unlike us, Jesus never suffered from the fear of failure! He did not even imagine not being able to accomplish the tasks that His Father had entrusted to him and for which He had promised him success. Jesus was also not afraid of running out. Although living in a simple way, He provided for His own needs as well as those of his team. How did He manage to do it ? By praying a lot and remaining in perfect and constant agreement with His Father. As a result He was able to catch fish that had no desire to take a hook, or find, in the mouth of one of them, the money necessary to pay His taxes, yes, Jesus paid his taxes. Of course, God may not provide for you exactly as Jesus did, but He has promised to take care of you (1 Peter 5:7). Today Jesus says to you : “Come to Me, let yourselves be instructed by Me... and you will find rest for your souls.” Stress arises from our need to want to know everything in advance, or to control everything. We pray and hand everything over to God, then come up with a back-up plan in case He doesn't respond the way we expect ! Don't you often do that ? Trust God a little more. Whenever you start looking for the “why, how and when” of things, think for a moment and let God really handle the situation. Not the “little” God you think you know, but the infinitely great God whose omnipotence is amply attested, whose faithfulness lasts forever and who has the right to ask you : “Is there something that [I] am unable to achieve ?” (Genesis 18. 14). In other words : learn to live like Jesus !
