Leave make the master...

"Lord, to whom shall we go ? You have the words of eternal life." Luke 6.68

 

Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, a German composer, was a virtuoso pianist at the age of nine. At the age of 15, he directed his fourth opera ! Later, visiting a church renowned for his organ, he was surprised to hear laboriously play, one of his own works.
Let Jesus make your life a masterpiece !

Approaching the organist, but without making himself known, he asked : "Can I help you ?
This piece is very peculiar to my heart and I want to play it for you ? "

"Impossible ! I am the only one authorized to use this instrument" was the answer.

"Can you leave me your place for a moment ? I wish to help you in the interpretation of this piece ?"

"No, I'm the only owner of this organ !"

Despite the composer's insistence, the man remained inflexible. Mendelssohn was disappointed towards the exit, when he had the idea to come back and renew his request : "Please, let me help you ?"

Eventually, tired of war, the organist ceded.

Under the artist's fingers, the instrument sounded so perfect that the man jumped up : "But who are you ?" Cried he.

"I am Mendelssohn," replied the master, thus confusing him who had so long refused to give up his place to the virtuoso.

Every man is also an instrument. The choice is left to us : continue playing his miserable little music or let the great Master use it for his glory.

A commitment for today

As you read these words, Jesus Christ insists on taking the place with you. But He will not do anything without your permission, for He never forces anyone. Let it make your life a masterpiece !
