Let another take his place !

Luke 2:37 – Remained a widow, and eighty-four years old, she did not leave the temple, and she served God night and day in fasting and in prayer.

Luke 18.1 and 5 – Jesus told them a parable, to show that we must always pray, and never give up... so that SHE does not constantly come and break my head.

Matthew 26:43 – He returned, and found them still sleeping ; for their eyes were heavy.

It's not a habit, but I wanted to contrast these few texts. The first tells us about Anne who was a very consecrated woman of prayer. The second tells us about the widow who “harassed” the iniquitous judge to obtain justice. Finally the third tells us about the disciples in Gethsemane, unable to pray with the Lord Jesus who was going through a moment of terrible anguish.

If you observe the children of God, you will notice that very often the field of prayer has been abandoned by men. The example of a man of prayers that was Jesus does not seem to appeal to them, obviously they have other things to do and they unload themselves on women. You know that we do not advocate feminism but it must be admitted that the sisters saw a vacant place which they took. To tell the truth, if men took their responsibilities, we would certainly be more balanced.

How many Christian husbands have failed in their task of being good fathers ? How many are completely uninterested in the spiritual climate of their home ? How many have completely discharged the education of the children ? How many have traded a moment of prayer as a couple for a football match ? And we are surprised that the world turns square !

God is looking for a man (Ezekiel 22:30) ! Beloved, there is a time for everything, a time for leisure but also a time for prayer. You are seriously mistaken in thinking that your lack of interest in prayer will have no consequence. Heavenly Father is waiting for you, with your brothers and sisters, for a moment of intense prayer. It will change the world, your nation, your city, your neighborhood, your environment... your own life.

Good reflection.
