Let's talk about love

“Do you think these Galileans were greater sinners than all the other Galileans ?” Luke 13.2

To love, is the recurring theme throughout the Bible ; love of brother, sister, neighbor and even the enemy. However, love for brothers and sisters is the first laboratory where affection, friendship, solidarity, compassion, sharing are experienced and lived. This love, which should be evident, is the one which binds together the people of God of which we are, and which must be manifested without moderation. It is evident that we have common experiences with our brothers and sisters in Christ ; we are from the same tribe. Brothers and sisters are those who share the same faith as they benefit from the same action of God in their lives. If we are not able to love each other, then we make God a liar and we ruin the testimony, even the message of the Bible. This is what John, the Apostle of Love, writes in his first letter : “He who says he is in the light and does not love his brother is still in darkness. Anyone who doesn't love their brother is a murderer. If someone says “I love God” while hating their brother, they are a liar. Because whoever does not love his brother whom he sees, how can he love God whom he does not see ?" These arguments are even more implacable than our apologies and the good reasons we have not to like. Indeed, even in the church, not all are "lovable" ! However, the outside world, our neighbors, our friends, our parents, our children, to whom we try to speak about God and his love, will be able to believe in our words only if they can verify that we love each other as heirs of the love we are talking about. If at times you find it difficult to love, think that for the person whom it is difficult for you to love, Jesus also gave His life, as he did for you. This sets the record straight.
