Let us marvel !

"See what love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God." 1 John 3: 1

"I have made known to them thy name, and I will make known unto them, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them." John 17:26

Dazzled by the love of God, the Apostle John invites us to share his astonishment, admiration and wonder : all who have received God's forgiveness in Jesus Christ have the right to be called "children of God" (John 1: 12). And we are, with all the privileges attached to it! It does not become so by multiplying good works, by being a member of a church, or doing our best - but by receiving Jesus Christ in us, believing in his name, that is, believing what he is.

Let us marvel ! God offers us the possibility of maintaining a personal and intimate relationship with him, and of living happily with our Father, feeling the affection that reigns in a family.

Let us marvel ! God saved us from eternal perdition by giving His only begotten Son to bear our sins on the cross. But God did more than that : in His sovereign grace He adopted us as His children. We can listen to him and speak with confidence.

Let us marvel ! By adoption, God gives us from the outset all the privileges of a son or daughter ; It allows us to benefit already from the treasures that belong to it ; We are not like children who have to wait for their majority to take possession of an inheritance.

We do not believe that we need to reach a high spiritual level for God to truly adopt us as His children: some believers think that on earth they are in the exam period preceding the adoption of a child by one couple. This is not the case : let us have faith in the divine promises contained in the Bible, and consider ourselves already as God's children in their own right !

Let us marvel! If we behave as sons of God, we will reflect the characters of our Father. This will be seen and God will be glorified.
