Visible things are transient, and invisible things are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

What good is it to a man to win over everyone, if he loses his soul ? Mark 8. 36

Lighting (1)

The lighting, in an exhibition, is carefully studied to highlight the paintings. Two different lightings of the same painting can give the impression that they are two distinct works.

If I imagine my life as a painting, the light in which I consider it is essential. More often than not, we appreciate the circumstances of our life in the light of existence on earth. But there is another light, which is to see it in relation to God and to our eternal future. The picture that constitutes my life remains the same, but the image obtained is very different.

Take the example of a young person who, following an accident, remains disabled for life. For his existence on earth, what a waste ! do we think. After a time of revolt, this dramatic event can lead him to reflect, to know Jesus as his Savior, and to testify for him. The apparent waste will give way to eternal happiness.

Conversely, for someone who, in good health, leads an easy and successful existence, but without God, we will gladly consider that his journey is a great success. But if this easy life has led him to neglect the future of his soul, what a dramatic loss for eternity !

Let's reflect : the important thing for our life on earth, whether our situation is difficult or happy, is to consider it in the light that God gives us in his Word, the Bible. Read it carefully, and then, it is with his gaze that we will see its true perspectives : present and eternal.
