Listen to the voice of the master

"Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your heart." Hebrews 3.7-8

In order to influence "our mind", the Coue method proposes to repeat the same phrase twenty times in a row, and this three times each day. But does repeating "I am the best" actually making us the best, relieving our soul of its true burdens or changing others ?

It is not enough to say something to live it or that the thing happens. Only God can do that (Psalm 33.9).

And you, do you know Jesus, the good shepherd ? To be able to speak about it, one must know it effectively and have accepted the salvation it offers you.

A few years ago, during a dinner given in his honor, a well-known actor agreed, at the request of one of the guests, to declaim a poem which he left to the audience. An elderly man asked him to recite Psalm 23. The artist, visibly surprised, accepted but said to him :

- "I will recite this psalm, provided you recite it yourself after me."

The actor began declaiming the psalm of David. His diction was perfect and worthy of his fame. The audience, under the charm, greeted his performance with a thunder of applause. The calm returned, the old gentleman, in turn, began to recite the Psalm 23. His voice was trembling. When he had finished, there was no applause, but a great silence and several guests wiped their eyes. The actor then approached the elderly man and said :

- "I have charmed my ears, but you have touched hearts, I know Psalm 23, but you know him who inspired him."

And you, do you know Jesus, the good shepherd ? To be able to speak about it, one must know it effectively and have accepted the salvation it offers you. So, you will be able to tell who he is and what he has done for you.

A prayer for today

I realize that words are powerless to help me. I need to know Jesus. I want to hear his voice and I too can say : "The LORD is my shepherd." Psalm 23.1
