Living with God as Father

You have accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour. The Bible declares that "you have peace with God" (Romans 5.1), and that you are a "child of God" (John 1.12). What joy should fill your heart ! And yet, you are discouraged, tired of the difficulties, and bitterness gradually sets in. Then this thought comes to you : "God is no longer interested in me".

Allow us to affirm, on the contrary, that everything that concerns you counts for God, who has become your Father. He took care of your eternal salvation by giving his beloved Son, Jesus Christ, to the cross. How could he not take care of your daily needs, of all that oppresses you ? Jesus affirms in the Gospel : "The Father himself loves you" (John 16.27). How not to address this almighty and so loving Father ? How not to trust him, not to cry out your distress, your pain, your questions, with the assurance of being understood ? Approach him, seek him, find him, thank him, and you will experience the happiness of knowing that you are loved by God.

Our heavenly Father has plans for our lives, marked by his perfection and his immense love. He wants the best for us, even if he sometimes takes us through difficult paths. To live with him is to depend on him, to accept his will, to let ourselves be educated. It is also to be what he asks of us : his ambassadors in front of men. It is above all to taste his divine presence at our side, until the moment when he will welcome us into his heavenly home.
